The deep roots of Pirate's Pointe Resort can be traced all the way back to 1883,
when the land if self was possessed by The State of Florida Commission of Land.
In 1913, the land was purchased and developed into what was eventually known
as Carey's Pirate's Pointe Subdivision. This quaint subdivision consisted of a
small enclave of cottages discreetly nestled on the banks of the Little Manatee
River in an area known to locals as the "Devil's Elbow".
Over the years, the property exchanged hands a few times becoming an auto care business location, a fish camp, and eventually was transformed into today's Pirate's Pointe Resort. Built to blend with Ruskin's eco-tourism theme, Pirate's Pointe Resort serves up an opportunity that is not easily found in this day and time - genuine "cracker-style" cottages nestled in an Old Florida setting. this unique establishment has been beautifully transformed into a quaint relaxing getaway with a tranquil ambiance that makes it the perfect vacation destination for people of all walks of life.
Each cottage has been completely remodeled, and is well-appointed with resort- style decor. Outside, the lush foliage and superb landscaping accent the mood and provide an air of the tropics. A pool with waterfall, surrounded by furniture fitting the resort's motif beckons to refresh the spirits of those in the mood for a swim. The raised deck and overhead lattice complete the theme.
Pirate's Pointe is also an angler's dream. Located on a nationally registered pristine waterway, the resort's surrounding waters are peaceful and often teeming with fish. The unspoiled mangrove-lined shores, bays and grass flats are bountiful with snook, redfish, trout, and a host of other saltwater species. The property has its own private boat dock.
Distinct in its location, pleasant accommodations and unsurpassed amenities, there truly is no other resort in Florida like Pirate's Pointe
